Dear Altus School family:
As you know today, September 26, 2024, APS resource officers in cooperation with Altus Police officers investigated a threat made to Altus Junior High. Upon further investigation, our resource officers and Altus Police Department determined that the original images used in the SnapChat threat did not originate in Altus, Oklahoma. These images have been circulating across the United States. All additional text were investigated and it was determined that there was no credible threat to Altus Junior High.
Student privacy laws prohibit schools from sharing additional information about this situation; however, please know both the school administration and local law enforcement are addressing the matter.
